It's too busy with other walkers to be able to relax. Too many people and litter. With some more management it could be class. Go early to beat the crowds.

Special place, great walking route to take the dog. Well signed with good information boards. Car park machine out of order.

Allen Banks is beautiful and family fun. Nature & wildlife gallore. Wheelchair friendly only if can walk a bit. Uneven as in woods. The orange trail has high slopes & od tur easiest. . I only done by the stream and to in the lovely woodland air. There are toilets by the car park. Free parking for National Trust members.

We had a lovely walk around Allen Banks gorge. The river has some great spots to explore and relax. Highly recommended.

Lovely place to walk with a few routes of various lengths to choose from, nice mix of views and some quiet spooky scenes of rocks and trees just staying in place 😳. Definitely need to spend a whole day here to have a good wander around, there's also a toilet block but no food drinks or shop so make sure to bring what you need.

Beautiful, well kept paths. Good access for those with little kids- ours went with a balance bike we carried in some parts. Not accessible for wheelchair or pram due to uneven ground. We loved the walk, so did the kids and the dogs.

Good walks around river from old walled garden. Paths mixed. West side better. Steps. Rough areas also options. Can extend to longer walk too.

Really nice hidden gem. Various routes available depending on your ability. We completed the brown route in approximately 2hrs. All walks helpfully waymarked all the way around. Lovely views as you walk. Car park big enough, with overflow available if necessary. This is an unmanned National Trust site, so no cafe or attendants in any capacity. It is very well looked after though. Parking charges for non members at a pay and display machine, or you can use Pay by Phone App. Well worth a visit.

Love this place, at anytime of the year. Great for dog walks, picnics, and a paddle in the river. Rope swing near the farm needs a new stick to sit on though 🤔 usually a must. Car park gets popular at weekends, there are picnic tables there, and toilets. Could do with a few dog waste bins on the way round though.....

An absolutely stunning walk with various trails depending on what distance you want. You'll walk parallel to the river and further in dogs can drink and take a paddle. We walked the brown route in early October and saw hardly anyone. We ended up walking several of the coloured trail routes having found signage a bit confusing. This place epitomises all that is nature and country life. I'd recommend taking a flask and some snacks as plenty of places to picnic. Parking plentiful and very cheap. Only real bug bare was there could be more signage guiding you back to the main car park. There are none and if like us you get off trail then you're in for a confusing return walk. Downloading a decent trail app will help. Not suitable for those with mobility difficulties or pushchairs. I wouod warn some trails can be challenging with high steps and plenty of steep ascents. Highly recommended.
